Resawell operates this online store and the related content, features, products, tools, and services (collectively, the “Services”). The Services are hosted by Shopify. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and retain personal information when you visit or use the Services, place an order, create an account, or communicate with us.

“Personal information” means information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you. It does not include information that has been anonymized or de-identified so that it cannot reasonably be linked to an individual.

Depending on how you interact with the Services, where you live, and what applicable law permits or requires, we may collect or process:

Order and transaction information, such as products viewed or purchased, cart and wishlist activity, returns, exchanges, cancellations, payment status, and order history.
Payment information, such as payment method, transaction details, billing information, and payment confirmation. Payment processors may receive complete payment-card details directly; Resawell may receive only limited payment information.

2. Sources of Information

We may obtain personal information:

Directly from you when you browse, create an account, place an order, submit a form, post a review, or contact us.
Automatically from your device through the Services, cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies.
From Shopify and service providers that support payments, order fulfillment, delivery, analytics, fraud prevention, customer support, communications, or store functionality.
From advertising, marketing, referral, or other business partners, subject to applicable law.

3. How We Use Information

We may use personal information to:

Provide and improve the Services, process payments, fulfill and deliver orders, manage accounts, support returns or exchanges, and remember preferences.
Communicate about orders, accounts, service updates, and support requests.
Personalize store content and recommend products based on interactions with the Services.
Send promotions and measure or personalize marketing and advertising where permitted by law.
Authenticate users, prevent fraud and abuse, protect the Services, and investigate suspicious or unlawful activity.

Where applicable law requires notice or consent for direct marketing, including under the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, we will provide the required information and obtain the required consent or indication of no objection before using or transferring personal data for that purpose. You may opt out of our direct marketing at any time without charge.

4. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose personal information for legitimate purposes consistent with this policy:

To Shopify and vendors that provide hosting, payment processing, order fulfillment, delivery, cloud storage, customer support, analytics, communications, security, and other services on our behalf.
To advertising and marketing partners where permitted by law and in accordance with your available choices. This may include using Shopify-supported personalized advertising based on activity with Resawell, other merchants, and other websites.
When you direct us, request a disclosure, or consent to an integration or third-party service.
To affiliates within our corporate group, if any, for purposes described in this policy.
To a buyer, investor, lender, adviser, or other participant in a proposed or completed business transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal requirements.
To courts, regulators, law-enforcement bodies, or other parties when required or permitted by law, to respond to valid process, protect rights and safety, investigate misconduct, or enforce our policies.

Third parties that act for their own purposes are responsible for their own privacy notices and practices.

5. Shopify

Shopify hosts the Services and processes information about your access to and use of the store so that the Services can operate and improve. Information submitted through the Services may be shared with Shopify and its service providers in countries other than your own.

Resawell currently uses certain Shopify enhanced features, including features that support store security, improvement, growth, measurement, and personalized advertising. These features may use information from your interactions with Resawell together with information about interactions with Shopify and other merchants. For processing performed by Shopify for these enhanced features, Shopify is responsible for responding to requests concerning that processing as described in its privacy documentation.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and our service providers may use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the store, remember preferences, maintain security, understand usage, measure performance, and support marketing or advertising where permitted.

You can adjust browser settings to reject or remove certain cookies. Some store features may not function properly if required cookies are blocked. Where required, the store will provide a consent or privacy-preferences control for non-essential technologies.

7. Third-Party Links

The Services may link to websites, applications, or platforms controlled by third parties. We do not control their privacy or security practices. Review the applicable third-party notice before providing information. A link from Resawell does not by itself constitute an endorsement.

Information you post in a public or semi-public area, including through a third-party social platform, may be visible and used by other users of that platform. Consider the audience and the platform’s settings before posting personal information.

8. Children

The Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child below the age at which the child may lawfully provide it without parental or guardian authorization in the relevant jurisdiction. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided personal information may contact us to request review and deletion where required.

As of the date of this policy, Resawell does not have actual knowledge that it sells or shares, as those terms are defined by applicable privacy law, personal information belonging to individuals under 16 years of age.

9. Security and Retention

We use reasonably practicable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. No security method is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive or confidential information through an unsecured channel.

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the Services, maintaining accounts and transaction records, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing agreements. Retention periods vary according to the information, purpose, and applicable requirements.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information; receive a portable copy; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; or opt out of certain advertising-related disclosures. These rights may be subject to legal conditions and exceptions.

You may unsubscribe from promotional email by using the unsubscribe link in a message. Even after opting out of promotions, you may still receive non-promotional communications about transactions, accounts, security, or support.

Where applicable, you may opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or its use for targeted advertising through our Your Privacy Choices page. If you visit the store with a supported Global Privacy Control signal enabled, we will treat that signal as an opt-out request for the relevant browser or device where required by law. If Shopify can associate the signal with your Shopify account, the opt-out may also be applied to that account. Other browser “Do Not Track” signals are not recognized unless applicable law requires otherwise.

11. Hong Kong Privacy Rights

Where the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) (the “PDPO”) applies, Resawell acts as a data user for personal data it controls. We take reasonably practicable steps to:

Collect personal data by lawful and fair means for purposes directly related to our activities.
Limit collection to personal data that is adequate and not excessive for those purposes.
Keep personal data accurate where necessary and retain it no longer than needed.
Use personal data for the purpose for which it was collected, or a directly related purpose, unless the law permits otherwise or the required consent is obtained.
Protect personal data against unauthorized or accidental access, processing, erasure, loss, or use.

Subject to the PDPO, you may request access to personal data we hold about you and correction of inaccurate personal data. Submit a written request through our contact form or email official@resawell.com with “Hong Kong Data Access Request” or “Hong Kong Data Correction Request” in the subject line. Include enough information to identify you and the relevant data. We will respond within the period required by the PDPO. Where permitted, we may charge a fee that is not excessive for complying with a data access request.

You may ask us to stop using your personal data for direct marketing at any time and without charge. Use the unsubscribe link in a marketing message or contact us using the details below.

If you believe your personal data has been handled contrary to the PDPO, please contact us first so we can investigate. You may also submit a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Hong Kong.

12. Other Regional Privacy Rights

If privacy law in your country, state, or region applies to Resawell and the relevant processing, you may have additional rights. These may include rights to know what information is collected, request access, correction, deletion, or portability, opt out of the sale or sharing of information or targeted advertising as those terms are defined by applicable law, limit certain uses of sensitive information, or appeal a decision concerning your request.

United States. If a U.S. state privacy law applies to Resawell and the relevant processing, you may use our Your Privacy Choices page for an applicable sale, sharing, or targeted-advertising opt-out. Depending on the law, you may also submit an access, correction, deletion, portability, limitation, or appeal request using the contact details below. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted, subject to verification of the agent’s authority and, where permitted, your identity.

United Kingdom and European Economic Area. Subject to applicable exceptions and limitations, you may have the right to object to or restrict certain processing and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing lawfully carried out before consent was withdrawn. For applicable UK or EEA data-protection law, Resawell acts as the controller of personal information it determines how and why to process.

If you have a complaint about how Resawell handles personal information, please contact us first so that we can investigate. Depending on your location, you may also have the right to appeal our decision or lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

For Hong Kong matters, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Hong Kong. If you are in the European Economic Area, the European Data Protection Board member list provides links to national supervisory authorities.

14. International Transfers

Personal information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in countries other than the country where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection rules. Where required, we use recognized safeguards or contractual protections appropriate to the transfer.

Where the PDPO applies, we take reasonably practicable steps to protect personal data transferred outside Hong Kong, including appropriate contractual, confidentiality, security, and data-handling requirements proportionate to the processing.

Where personal information is transferred from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom to a country that has not been recognized as providing adequate protection, we rely on an applicable lawful transfer mechanism, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an applicable UK equivalent, unless another lawful mechanism applies.

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, the Services, or legal requirements. We will post the revised policy with a new “Last updated” date and provide any additional notice required by applicable law.
